Alma O'Brien
Alma G. "Mamaw" (Seifert) O'Brien, 100, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 9, 2011 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in New Albany. Alma was a member of the Eastern Star and Christ United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Indiana. She loved both gardening and bird watching.
Alma was born on January 16, 1911 in Rome, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel P. O'Brien, Sr.; her children, Saundra K. Fryrear and Joel P. O'Brien, Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Patsy J. "Pat" Schoeffler of New Albany, Indiana; siblings, Carl Lee Seifert and his wife, Bonnie, of Illinois, Dorothy Edler of Zearing, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 to 1 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Saturday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church (1618 Canal Lane, Georgetown, IN 47122).
