Alliene F.(Kelly) Schneider

Alliene F. (Kelly) Schneider, 87, died on August 1, 2013. She retired from the Census Bureau after 21 years of service, was a former 4H leader, and was also a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany. Alliene enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards, and attending the local church picnics.

Alliene was born on March 2, 1926 in Harrison County, Indiana to the late William F. and Nola A. (Reneau) Kelly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Schneider; sons, Alan F., Gregory L., and Michael J. "Mickey" Schneider; siblings, Arthur, William, Robert, Claude, Elizabeth Kelly, Georgia Stonecipher, and Blanche Jordan.

She is survived by her children, Patrick D. Schneider (Melinda), Elizabeth A. "Beth" Schneider; daughter-in-laws, Barbara (Peavler) Schneider, Becky (Leahy) Schneider; grandchildren, Kimberly Carney (Pat), Michelle Popson (Paul), Sarah Johnston (Scott), Matthew Schneider, John Brandon, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 to 7 PM Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany) with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E 8th Street, New Albany, IN) with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crusade for Children or to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
