Allen W. Best

Allen W. Best, 50, loving dad and papaw, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and spending time out in his yard. Allen was a former employee of Libs Paving, Streigel Asphalt, and CCE, Inc.

Allen was born on July 3, 1963 in New Albany, Indiana to Anita F. Best Collins and the late Damon A. Best. Along with his mother and step-mother, Millie Best, he is survived by his children, Trica Best, Matthew Best (Linda), Cortnea Vaughn (Chad); siblings, Karalynn "Katie" Thompson (Keith), Bill Best (Anita), Jim Best (Debbie), Brenda Snyder (Brad), Janice Murphy (Leroy), Nancy Schellenberger (Mike), Misty Wright (Allan); step-father, Phil Collins; grandchildren, Xzaivyon Ramseur, Damon Best, Amelia, Levi, Providence, and Ira Vaughn.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 3 to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery.
