August 21, 1959 — May 29, 2014
Allen "Al" Lewis, 54, passed away on May 29, 2014. Al never missed a UofL game, enjoyed working in the yard, always saying a kind word and loved his family deeply.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Ida Lewis; sisters, Thelma Thomas and Dorothy Williams and brother Purgie Lewis.
He is survived by siblings, Mildred Willis of Grenada, MS, Ruth McGuire (Don), Raeford, NC, Vera McBroom (Winfred) of Louisville, KY, Doris Lindsay of Louisville, KY, Larry (Mersefaine)of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Boller of Louisville, KY and Eric (Tamara) of Louisville, KY, a dear aunt Leonia Jennings of Grenada, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 5pm-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
