Alice Marie Wolfe or "Sis" to her close family, 78 of Louisville, Kentucky, lovingly surrounded by her family, joined our Lord on Monday, 23 May 2022, at Audubon Hospital. She lived an extraordinary life of mattering to everyone she met and was a bright spot of joy and laughter and she will be deeply missed.
Born 12 January 1944 to Richard Theodore Shackelton and Alice Mae Olliges, she has one surviving sister, Susan of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was preceded in death by brothers Richard Anthony, Tommy and Jerry, and her beloved pets: Chunker, Molly, Tammy, Captain, Samson, Delilah, and Cynthia. She was married to Donald C. Wolfe Sr.(deceased), and Ed Gaddis (deceased).
She retired from Jewish hospital in 2010, where she worked as an environmentalist for more than 20 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement by watching her game shows, doing word puzzles, playing scratch-offs, playing with her dog (Sable), talking to her friend Lucky on the phone, visiting her sister Susan in Florida during the winter months and spending time with her family. Always happy, she loved listening to old rock-n-roll music, being poked and tickled by her boys, and was always a bedrock of strength for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Donnie and Robbie. Colonel (Ret) Don Wolfe and wife Kim, three grandchildren: Tori (James) and great Grandson Bodhi; and Cody (Kendall) and Kyle (Morgan). Youngest son Robert Wolfe and grandchildren Crystal and Robbie Jr. Her sister Susan, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 10:00am till service at 1:00pm, Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. A private interment will occur at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
