Alice "Faye" (Sumner) Watson, 86, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed from this land unto Glory on February 9, 2023. Faye was born on January 25, 1937, in Tifton, Georgia, to Charlie and Lula Belle (Shannon) Sumner.
There was nothing more important in Faye's life than her deep-rooted faith in God. In 1955, at the age of 18, she attended her first church service of Brother William Marrion Branham in Macon, Georgia, which would change the course of her life forever. Two years later, while in a discernment line at one of Brother Branham's meetings, Faye was completely healed of heart disease.
She and her family's faith in this ministry influenced their move to Jeffersonville in 1973, where Faye's husband, Bobby, and son, Joel, soon began working for Voice Of God Recordings, duplicating the sermon cassettes of Brother Branham, which they held so precious in their heart. Bobby worked at VGR for 27 years until his passing in 2010, while Joel and his son Andrew are still working at VGR today.
In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; and brothers, Rudolph, Elwood, Howard, and T.S. Sumner. She is survived by her son, Joel Watson (Angie); brother, Charles Sumner (Sandra); sisters, Mary Sumner and Valda Rowan; sisters-in-law, Mary and Ruth Sumner; grandchildren, Elise Johnson (Andrew) and Andrew Watson (Ruthanna); and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Addison, Jesse, Joseph, and Joshua.
In respect to our sister, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Voice Of God Recordings to sponsor the Agapao tablets, so others around the world can have the same opportunity that Faye had to hear the Word of God for our day.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). She will be laid to rest privately beside her husband at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
