Alice Mae (Dial) Pyles

Alice Mae (Dial) Pyles, 71, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023. She was a licensed optometrist and had managed many Monfreid Optical locations. Alice was an active member of Calvary Road Baptist Church. She loved running, hiking through the Smokies, and, most of all, caring for people.

She was born on February 11, 1952, in Columbia, Kentucky, to Walter and Della (Compton) Dial. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Elliott; granddaughter, Mary Beth Elliott; brothers, Jerry, Maurice, and Jim; and sisters, Mary Pendleton, Brenda Sue Swanson, Polly Pyles, and Mary Dial.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Bob Pyles, Jr.; grandsons, Lucas Elliott and his wife Holly Elliott and Josh Elliott and his wife Ashley Elliott; and great-granddaughter, Karter Rae Elliott.

Alice's wish was to be cremated, and a celebration of her life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Calvary Road Baptist Church (3795 St. Joseph Road, New Albany, IN 47150). Contributions in her memory may be made to her church.
