Alice Gilson

Alice Gilson, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. Alice enjoyed reading, decorating, and doing crafts. She loved being in her flower garden, vegetable garden, and hummingbird feeders. Alice's fondest memories were taking rides in the countryside together with Luke. Her favorite times of the year were the family gatherings and holidays. She was the rock and pillar of the family, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was born on July 24, 1948 in Hodgenville, Kentucky to Ed and Thelma (Coy) Laha. She is preceded in death by her Parents, and Sister, Janette Lyons.

Alice is survived by her loving Husband of 54 years, Luke Gilson, Children, Jeff (Jeannie) Gilson, Jennifer (Clifford) Hicks, Pete (Christy) Gilson, and Marcy (Kenneth) Shanks; Grandchildren, Josh (Tiphanie), Jessica, Kim (Brian), Kenny (Emily), Timmy, Presley (Dariane), Corey, Hannah (Nick), Nick (Shelby), and Hannah; Great-Grandchildren, Jade, Kenny, Aubree, Lynnox, Braxton "Bumpy", and Collin, and Brother, Jim (Verna) Laha; Special Nephews, Travis, and Chad. Alice also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Friends and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Alice's memory be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital.
