Alfred Ray

July 16, 1930 — February 10, 2012

Mr. Alfred Ray, age 81 of Louisville, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012.

Originally from Meridian, MS., he was a career Army Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War and was a double Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Courier Express.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jimmy Ray and three sisters, Ether Ray, Viola Neal and Anna May Lester.

Mr. Ray is survived by his loving wife Betty R. Ray; step-children, Rolander Johnson (Pam), Cedric Johnson (Solita); 10 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren; brother George Ray; sister, Sarah Hall; special niece Jainie Allen ((Darrell).

Funeral Ceremony will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Meridian, MS.
