Alexis Ann VonRoenn Stevenson, 69, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021. A native of Louisville, Alexis was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Edgecliff College in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Alexis was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth G. Stevenson, her brother Kelvin A VonRoenn, MD, and her sister Margaret V. (Peggy) Widener. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James D. Stevenson and her son, Clark B. Stevenson. She is also survived by brothers, Warren G. (Greg) VonRoenn, MD, (Carla) of Milwaukee, WI, Stephen E.VonRoenn (Renee) of Boulder, CO, and her sisters Mary Lynn V. Garrett (Jeff) of Lexington, KY, Joan V. Winkler (David), and Vicki Green (David), her step-sister Monica D. Browning (Charlie), and step-brother Craig M. Davis (Carolyn) all of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jamie H. VonRoenn, MD, of Washington D.C. and her brother-in-law, Steven L. Widener of Indio, CA, and her aunt Mary Ann Klemenz, of Louisville. In addition, over 50 cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews will also miss their fun loving and fantastic cook, Aunt Alexis!
Alexis' working career began at the Louisville Seagrams Distillery, proceeded to the Charlestown Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, and she retired after 19 years at Martinrea Heavy Stamping, Shelbyville. Alexis was the consummate volunteer at St. Patrick Catholic Church and involved in many capacities, including being a Eucharistic Minister, President of the Leprechauns Senior Group, and was named an Ambassador of Christ by St. Patrick in 2013. Alexis was a member of Queen's Daughters. In addition, Alexis was the Bunco Queen, a member of three bunco clubs!
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road on Monday, August 16, beginning at 9:00 am, followed by Alexis' funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Alexis' memory to Mass of the Air, 1200 S. Shelby St., Louisville, KY 40203 or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
