Alec "Tinko" Pettiway, 21, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Alec was a loving, motivated young man. Growing up as a kid he loved his video games and was always motivated to win which stuck with him throughout his life until his passing day. As he grew older if you knew him as a child he was everything he thought he would be charming, handsome, energetic, and a protector especially to his sisters. He had a scholarship for culinary arts. He had a smile and a laugh that you wouldn't forget. The days he walked upon earth he was loved and respected which will follow him in his passing.

He was born on August 10, 1999 in Louisville, Kentucky to Darren Pettiway and Yvette Owens. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Mary Pettiway and uncles, Donald Pettiway, Casey Pettiway, and Victor Pettiway.

Alec is survived by his loving family, parents Yvette L. Owens and Darren L. (Candy) Pettiway, Sr.; children, Ah'Khari Hassan and Jai'Alyx Pettiway; step son, Cali King Moore; siblings, Alexis Owens, Ashley Carman, Breonte Williams, Brittany (Ken'Cari) Anderson, Darren Pettiway Jr., Darion L. Pettiway Elijah Wade, Ja'Kobe Branham, Lamont Varner, Tyron Owens, and Victoria "Vickey" Pettiway; grandparents, Linda (Tyrone) Gober, James "Looney" Marshall, and Arthur Pettiway; great-grandmother, Georgia Owens: aunts, Robin (Demond) Owens, Vickey Pettiway, and Renna Pettiway; uncles, Craig (Machelle) Owens, Sr., Derron (Monique) Owens, Sr., Brandon (Kelly) Owens, and Larry Pettiway. As well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his fun loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with cremation to follow.
