Alec Dylan "Lefty #316" First, age 17 of Louisville, passed away on December 30, 2011. Dylan was a senior at Jeffersontown High School, in the Project Lead the Way Engineering Program and First Robotics Program, Beta Club member and President of the National Honor Society. He was a violinist in the Jeffersontown High School Orchestra. He was a Bellarmine 2011 Governors' Scholar Recipient and a University of Kentucky/Class of Kentucky and Book Award Recipient. He was a member of Forest Park Community Church, Southeast Christian Church C-Groups, Flight 43 Louisville Chrysalis/ Emmaus. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout at Southeast Christian Troop 212. He was a team rider for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Kentuckiana Motocross Team and a member of Saddleback East MX Park. He was employed at Bachman Auto Group.
Dylan is survived by his parents, Tony and Patty First; sister, Kristin Caskey (Matt); brothers, Matthew First and Richard Gilbert (Shawna); grandparents, Shirley and Robert Redmon; aunts, Penny Miller (Denny) and Pam Krone; nieces, Reagen, Victoria ; nephews, Joe and Richie; cousins, Caitlyn and Jenna; and his girlfriend Rachel Lyvers. Dylan is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at Forest Park Community Church, 5012 S. Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday 10 – 8pm and on Friday 9am until time of service. Newcomer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Fellowship of Christian Atheletes (FCA) Kentuckiana Motocross Team in Dylan's name.
