Alberta (Schindler) Peay, 91, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
She was born on September 28, 1932 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Albert Schindler and Dorothy Carpenter Schindler. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Peay; and brothers, David Schindler, Jerome "Smiley" Schindler, and Carl Schindler.
Alberta is survived by her daughter, Paula Smith; son, Terry (Vicky) Peay; siblings, Joyce Schindler, Bobby Schindler, Donnie (Barb) Schindler, Kenny (Sarah) Schindler, Mike (Nancy) Schindler and Joe (Joy) Schindler; grandchildren, Melissa Bostock, Nicholas (Amanda) Peay, Douglas (Danielle) Smith, and Mckenzie Peay; and great-granddaughter, Jasmine Bostock.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 Saint Marys Rd, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
