Albert Boykins

Albert Boykins, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

He was born on September 9, 1949 in Shelby County, Kentucky to the late Julia B. Triplett-Boykins and step-father Henry C. Boykins. He is also preceded in death by grandmother Julia Rose Triplett, aunts and uncles, Virginia Triplett, Joseph Triplett, Mary Singleton, Maude Baynard, Hartzell "Bosie" Triplett, Howard Triplett, Logan Triplett, Harold Triplett and Suzannah Triplett.

He attended Georgetown College where he was on the Gymnastics Team and received a State Metal, he also surved in the United States Navy.

Albert is survived by his son, Julean S. Boykins, siblings Victor C. Boykins, Ronald C. Boykins, Jeffrey C. Boykins, June Elaine Russell, Gary S. Boykins, aunts, Yvonne Triplett, Evelyn Mack and uncles, Melvin Triplett and George Triplett. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

God Saw You Were Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Per Albert's wishes cremation was chosen and no services will be held.
