Albert Bentley Mcchargue

Mr. Albert Bentley "Diego" McChargue, age 86 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, September 07, 2011. Dad was a WWII Army Veteran, a long-time member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, member of the downtown YMCA, the Aero Club at Bowman Field, and a graduate of U of L. Dad passionately supported the foreign student exchange and Spanish language programs. Our Dad retired from E.I. DuPont in 1985 and was an avid neighborhood gardener. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mattie Ruth Leach McChargue, and was the last in the line of his brothers and sisters.

Dad is survived by his children, Gustavo "Ricky", Carlos "Jack", Dianna "Dee Dee" and Deborah "Deb" McChargue; nieces, Joyce Jackson (Charles) of Navasota, Texas and Jackie Bartley of Dallas, Oregon; sister-in-laws, Lucille McChargue of Houma, LA. and Jean McChargue of Fayetteville, GA. Also surviving are numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral ceremony will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 9th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Eric Bryant officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Spanish Language Program at U of L or Alzheimer's Research.
