Alan R. Tyler, 52, of New Albany returned home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. He was in the Army Reserves and then served in the United States Air Force and is an Elder at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in New Albany. Alan was also an employee at the Ford Motor Company's Kentucky Truck Plant.
Alan was born on September 24, 1959 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Dean L. and Imo L. (Longest) Tyler. Along with his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Tammy (Caraway) Tyler; children, Jacob Ross, Jenna Leigh, and Justin Alan Tyler, Maggie Lynn Reed; grandson, Connor Alan Tyler; and siblings, Michael Tyler (Rosemarie) and Lynn Tom.
Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, January 6, 2012 and on Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 12 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to take place at 3 PM on Monday, January 9 at the Indiana Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connor Alan Tyler Trust Fund.
