Alan J. LaFontaine, 72, passed away on April 26, 2012. A native of Delmar, New York, he graduated from Hudson Valley College in Troy, New York. A former National Guardsman, Alan was the owner of Lobo Equipment and a member of St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
He was born on May 9, 1939 in Binghamton, New York to the late Leon J. and Dorothea C. (Andreas) LaFontaine.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elaine F. (Catlin) LaFontaine; son, Keith LaFontaine; daughters, Kimberly Martin (Dale), Teresa Ford (John), Yvonne Thulier (Dave), and Janet Duke (David); brother, Noel LaFontaine (Imelda); grandchildren, Erika, Jenna, Jordan, Kaeleigh, and Tyler.
His Visitation will be 2 to 5 PM Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). The Funeral Mass is 10 AM on Monday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church with burial to follow at church cemetery.
