Adelaide Kirby Smith

Adelaide "Shorty" Kirby Smith died on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Treyton Oak Towers in Louisville, KY, she was 89 years old. Adelaide was born in Victoria, VA and formerly resided in Huntington, WV before moving to Louisville in 2005.

She was preceded in death her husband Tim Smith, her parents, Stephen and Adelaide Kirby, her brothers and sisters, Richard, Charles, Stephen "Bunn," Katherine "Dink" and Mary.

A graduate of Victoria High School, she attended Longwood College. Adelaide was a retired realtor, banker and administrative assistant. She loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, entertaining, watching sports and spending time with her friends and family.

Thanks to the wonderful care providers and Treyton Oak Towers and Hosparus Health, she received excellent care at the end of life and spent her final days surrounded by loved ones.

Adelaide is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Smith, Julie Clayton (Todd) and two granddaughters, Haley and Emma Clayton.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at later time.
