Mary Evelyn Wright, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 15, 2010 at her home. Mary was a retired operator at Indiana Bell and Bell South Communications for thirty-seven years, where she never missed a day of work. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of Indiana, Communication Workers of America Local 3310, as well as a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany, Indiana.

Mary was born on October 8, 1924 in New Albany, Indiana to the late George and Anna (Stewart) Wright. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Marguerite Ang, Aileen Wright, and Allie Wright; nephew, Todd Adams; brothers-in-law, Bill Ang, and Frank Adams. Mary is survived by sister, Jeanne Adams; nieces, Barbara (Tom) Whiteside of Clarksville, Indiana, Carolyn (Bob) Wells of New Albany, Indiana; nephew, Ted (Lynette) Adams of new Salisbury, Indiana; great nieces, Laura Jenkins, Jeanne Stafford, Lisa Stevens, Anna Owens, Holly Braden; great nephews, Cass Adams, and Chad Wells; and 10 great-great nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen. A private committal service will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Newcomer Funeral Home - Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana)

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Mary's memory be made to Hosparus – the Hospice Community of Southern Indiana or the Animal Rescue League in New Albany.
