OMER "OZZIE," THOMPSON, age 94, formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away July 4, 2009 at The Forum at Brookside.
He was born in Bradford, OH on March 21, 1915 and a 1935 graduate of Covington High School. He retired from NCR as a tool and die maker. He was a 32nd degree Mason-Scottish Rite Shrine Club. Ozzie known for his whistling and singing, was fun loving and had a remarkable zest for life. He was an avid bridge player, horse racing fan, golf hacker, humorist, poet and a joy to be around.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Rosalee Buchanan Thompson; his parents; and two brothers.
He is survived by his three children, David (Pat), of Ft. Myers, FL, Alan, of Dayton, OH and Becky Klusch, of Louisville; five grandchildren, Jeff Thompson (Tamara), Amy Klusch Guenther (Scott), Nicole Thompson Darling (Bill), Karen Klusch Bowman (Brad) and Michael Klusch (Adrienne); 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John (Betty), of Covington, OH.
Service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday July 12, 2009, with visitation after 3 p.m. Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Covington, OH.
