Timothy Heeke, 68, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Tim was a proud member of RIOT Crossfit where he was a coach and the President of the Jordan Lake Home Owners Association. He retired in 2021 as Maintenance Supervisor from NTS Development Company in Louisville, Kentucky having worked for them for over 30 years. In 2017 he was awarded Maintenance Supervisor of the Year by the Louisville Apartment Association. He was a passionate outdoorsman who advocated for preservation of nature and the sporting of wildlife. This included fishing, hunting, and all things outdoors. Physical exercise was also an important piece of Tim's life. He spent years running races with his daughter, coaching crossfit and competing in power lifting where he set several records for his age group. Being a Papaw was the true joy of his life. He was always present and available for his grandkids whether that included a game, a play, a performance, bringing a care package when they were sick or just sharing a dad joke.
He was born on February 19, 1955 in New Albany, Indiana to Norbert and Helen (Receveur) Heeke. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donnie Heeke; and two nephews, Aaron Hardin and Clayton Heeke.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Heeke; two children, Sara (Brian) VonAllmen and Bryan Heeke; five grandchildren, Morgan, Gabriel, Asher, Emily, and Avery; siblings, Cathy (Lonnie) Minarich, Jerry Heeke, Tony (Beverly) Heeke, and Bonnie (Ernie) Dennison; brother and sister in laws, Patty Heeke, Lee (Nan) Martin, Gail (Doug) Noble, Chuck Hunn, and David Hunn; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Tim's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
