Timothy "Gip" Gibson, 54, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
He was born on March 12, 1969 in Danville, Kentucky to the late Kenneth and Rebecca (Tucker) Gibson. He is also preceded in death by his nephew, Jacob Ryan Gibson.
Gip was a 1987 graduate of Eastern High School, he furthered his education at the University of Kentucky graduating in 1991 and completed his masters in fine arts at the University of Alabama in 1999. He and wife owned and operated, Cypress Community Services in Lexington, Kentucky, he was involved with many philanthropic organizations including the organization he founded called TenKids which supported orphan children in Haiti. Gip also perused many creative endeavors including being a prolific painter and a lover of the fine arts and music. The greatest joy of his life was raising and being a father to his two beautiful daughters.
Gip is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Day Gibson, daughters, Irie and Marley Gibson, brothers, Kenny Gibson and his wife, Maureen, Danny Gibson and his wife Laura, nieces and nephews, Lauren Gibson, Elise Kenney (James), Kenny Gibson III, Anna Gibson, Nathan Gibson, Luke Gibson (Jade), Cade Gibson, Zachary Gibson, Sophia Gibson, Jacob Day, Caitlin Day, Rachel Day, Tytus Williams, Sydney Williams, Nyah Williams and Aydain Williams. He is also survived by a great-niece, Mara Kenney.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 pm on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
