William "Chopp" Todd was born October 25, 1972, in Louisville, Kentucky to Alicia and the late William Todd, Sr. He earned his GED at a later stage in life and shortly after went to JCTC and became a welder which landed him a job at Jeff Boat.
He was an avid sports fan with favorite teams being the Cincinnati Bengals and although he turned their bird blue; Louisville cardinals.
When he was not working at his job as a fork lift driver at Meritor, he enjoyed attempting to become a Griller Master, listening to music, playing Madden with his wife and playing NBA sports, as well as attempting to win games of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with his wife and daughter. William also had an addiction to Ancient Aliens.
In 2012, he met Renee Birdsong. In 2014, William made the decision to move to Newport, Tennessee and proposed to her. In 2015, he made Renee his wife.
He shortly proclaimed his new life by calling himself a mountain man, wearing bucket hats, attempting to fish for fish that he didn't eat and becoming attached to birds; Tina Marie has been his baby for 3 years now.
He is preceded in death by William Todd, Sr. "Pops"; Clarence Clayton, Sr., "Daddy"; sister, Samantha Thompson; grandmother, Golden Pope; grandfather, Noah Houchin, Sr.; uncles, Willie Todd "Blue", James Oldham "Jimmy", Timothy Oldham and Noah Oldham, Sr.; aunts, Dorothy A. Todd, Dorothy F. Todd and cousins, Kozy Todd and Larry Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Renee Todd; daughter, Aaliyah Todd; bonus son, Carlos Cain, Jr.; mother, Alicia Gail Todd; grandmother, Esther Kelly "Sista"; siblings, Jessica Kelly, Alicia Williams (Ray), Angel Todd and Rodney Todd, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Von Spiegel Missionary Baptist Church, 3336 W. Kentucky Avenue, Louisville, KY 40211, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of William's life beginning at 1pm.
