John Howard Payne

John Howard Payne, 71, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd after a long illness with Parkinson's Disease.
John grew up in Georgetown, Indiana, and graduated from Floyd Central High School in the class of 1969. He attended IU. John worked as a risk manager for various insurance companies throughout his career.
John loved music and played drums in his younger years. He loved to play golf and spend time with friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Burton Payne and Katherine Roselee Payne; and his brother, Jack.
John is survived by his best friends and caretakers, William and Sandy Dolan; their daughters, Anna Blanton (Charlie) and Carly Dolan (Doug), and their children, Lily and Weston; his son, Benjamin Payne; his daughter, Eldora Rogers; the Margaret Huber family, who were considered family by John; and two nieces.
Cremation was chosen following John's wishes, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
