Thomas Joseph Simpson

Thomas Joseph Simpson, age 73 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at his home. He was born April 16, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Roland and Mary Catherine Simpson. He was raised as a good Catholic and attended St. Columba School. He graduated from Flaget High School in 1967. He attended the University of Kentucky until he had to withdraw to support his family. Tom was an avid UK Fan, attending both the basketball and football games. He enjoyed golfing (or playing at it) with his friends. Tom was a member of the Flaget Alumni Association. He was always willing to help Sandra change decorations monthly, being her laborer or "box man". He always said he was Sandra's help mate and that they were joined at the hip.

Tom started out as an altar boy at St. Anthony Catholic Church and attended there until it closed. He last attended St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Pewee Valley, Kentucky. He worked for the Jefferson County Clerk for 37 years. He retired in 2005 to care for his mother.

Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 34 years Sandra; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 10am to noon on Monday, March 6, 2023 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church 212 Mercy Drive Pewee Valley, Kentucky. A Mass of Celebration will be there at noon. Tom's wish was for cremation and the family is being served by Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel.

Sandra wishes to express many thanks to Hosparus for their help and care of Tom until his passing.

Memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or charity of choice in Tom's name.
