Ruth Trobaugh

Ruth Trobaugh, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Ruth was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was saved at revival when she was 13 and followed Jesus faithfully, she was the true example of how a Christian should live. She was an avid sports fan and an amazing softball player. She loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, or anything she could do not to be inside. She had an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She loved spending time with her family telling stories and going out to eat. She never gave up on anyone and would always be there to give the best advice or just listen. Ruth will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.

She was born on October 9, 1948 in Coral Ridge, Kentucky to Arvil and Shirley (Hatfield) Sturgeon. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Larry Stephen Trobaugh, Sr., Father, Arvil L. Sturgeon, Mother, Shirley M. Sturgeon, and Sister, Linda Evans.

Ruth is survived by her loving family, Children, Nancy A. (Troy) Thomas and Larry S. (Nicole) Trobaugh, Jr.; Grandchildren, Brian Tucker and Jacob Thomas; Great-Grandchild, Oliver Tucker-Hodges; Siblings, Mary Huddleston, Bill Sturgeon, Jeanette Fulton, Michael Sturgeon, Alvin Sturgeon, and Jim Sturgeon, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 5:00 pm on Sunday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in Ruth's memory be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
