Elizabeth "Betty" P. Thacker, 91, of Louisville passed away to her eternal home on January 28, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 26, 1931 in Louisville to the late William and Elsie Mae Palmer. Betty was a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church. Such a wonderful, giving individual who cared deeply for others. Being such a loyal and dedicated employee of Meijer for 13 years. In the 1960s she worked as a private secretary at the Jefferson County Court House.
Preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Carpenter, Willa Mae Tichenor, and Lottie Palmer; and brother, Delbert Palmer.
Devoted and loving wife for over 72 years to James Thacker; mother to Rudy E. Thacker (Donna); Memaw to Michelle Thacker and Tiffany Browning (Mike); Bettymaw to Kristin Angelini (Ernest) and Amy Alvey (Sean); great grandmother to Camden, Layla, Olivia, Greyson, C.J., and Violet; aunt to Judy Evans, Linda Epley; she is also survived by other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). Her funeral will follow the next day at 10:30 am at Fern Creek Baptist Church ( 5920 Bardstown Rd) with burial to follow at Elk Creek Cemetery (5734 Elk Creek Rd).
