Doris M. Hickerson

Doris M. (Shelton) Hickerson, 87, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for several years and was an avid Bingo player. Most importantly, she was a dedicated mother.

She was born on April 19, 1935, in Hart County, Kentucky, to the late James Shelton and Beulah Druen Shelton. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Hickerson; daughter, Debbie Keiran; and sisters, Eloise Hunter and Mitchelene Jacobs.

Doris is survived by her children, Anita (Johnny) Pettit and Donna Hickerson; son-in-law, Brian Keiran; grandchildren, Angela Hogan, Jessica Fraley, Kyle Graham, Leigh (James) Darnall, Michelle (Tony) Neal, and Rachael (Steve) Stacey; sister, Arlene Rippy; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). She will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
