Paul D. Cookson

Paul D. Cookson, 69, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Paul was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He liked fishing, hunting, koi ponds, aquariums, traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains and was an avid UK basketball fan.

He was born on March 4, 1953 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Virgil and Betty (Johnson) Cookson. He is preceded in death by his Father, Virgil Cookson and Mother, Betty Buchanan; Step-Mom, Ellen Cookson, Brother, Stan Cookson.

Paul is survived by his loving Wife of 50 years, Debbie L Cookson; Son, Travis (Devon) Cookson; Grandchildren, Ethan Cookson, Sophia Dumonte, and Greyson Dumonte; Dad, Clyde Buchanan; Siblings, Donna (Wayne) Moss, Cheryl (Rod) Schweitzer, Kevin (Michelle) Buchanan, Dusty Cookson, and Grady Cookson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
