Shirley Mattingly, 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on December 3, 2022. She was born on November 16, 1959 to James and Hattie Sexton.
Shirley loved to be around the water: fishing where she could, feeding ducks, or just enjoying being outside. She enjoyed dancing and listening to her music, specifically Led Zeppelin (Robert Plant). She was always smiling and looked for the brighter side of things. She had a "squirrely", eclectic personality. She was a forgiving person, seldom holding grudges. She was not only a great mother but a best friend. She loved her babies AKA her canine "grandmonsters", MJ, Champ, Harlee, Tidbit, and Little Momma.
Shirley is preceded by her parents, James and Hattie Sexton, and her siblings, Ella Busam and Danny Sexton. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving son, Daniel (Ashli) Sexton; her siblings, Donald (Roberta) Sexton, Linda Lindsey, Rex Sexton, Sheila Dykes, and Jeff Sexton, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who all will miss her very much.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) from 1:00pm – 4:00pm with service to follow at 4:00pm.
