Paul Edward Slusser

Paul Edward Slusser, 67, passed away on November 22, 2022, leaving his devoted and loving wife, Denise. They were high school sweethearts, who reconnected after 39 years and got married on November 1, 2011, becoming each other's soulmates. They were active members of Big Clifty United Methodist Church where they initiated the Samaritan's Purse Shoe Box Christmas Program and the Backpack Program. Paul and Denise were active in the statewide Methodist Conventions.

He owned a contracting business in Texas and later returned to Louisville where he became a master carpenter working on numerous projects, including the Anthem Building and Graham Brown Cancer Center. Paul helped construct the Gorilla Forest Exhibit at the Louisville Zoo and donated many hours to Habitat for Humanity. In his parents' latter years, Paul put his career on hold for several years to care for them. He was an avid UK fan, traveled through-out the United States, going camping, fishing and hunting. Paul loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His nieces and nephews dearly loved him because he was always so playful. He will be truly missed and will forever live in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. and Frances Slusser, Jr.; siblings, Richard Slusser, Charles B. Slusser III, Patricia Slusser Aldridge, and brother-in-law, Ron Fenster.

Paul leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted and loving wife, Denise Slusser; siblings, Charlotte Fenster, Elaine Slusser, Joseph (Pam) Slusser, Janice (Jerry) Hearn and Mark (Patti) Slusser; sister-in-law, Margarita Slusser; brother-in-law, Frankie Aldridge; uncle, Robert Paxton; aunts, Louise Greenway and Beverly McKenzie; step-daughter, Melissa (Scott) Wright, step-son, Travis (Dana) Brown; step grand-daughters, Siarah Brown, Skylar Brown, Charlotte Brown and Everly Brown; step great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Brown; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 6:00pm- 8:00pm and Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10am-1pm with a celebration of Paul's life beginning at 1pm.

A graveside service will be at Heaven's Gate Memorial Park, 2490 Shaw Creek Road, Big Clifty, KY, beginning at 2pm (Central Standard Time), which is 3pm Louisville time, (Eastern Standard Time).

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made, in memory of Paul, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
