Helen Louise Cooper

Helen Louise Cooper, age 76, of Fairdale, Kentucky, passed away at 12:34am on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky due to heart issues. Helen was born on May 27th, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Huston Lee and Ruby Edith (Shepherd) Welsh. She was engaged to be married to David Cooper of Louisville, Kentucky. Helen was retired from The Jefferson County Public Schools and was a member of Holy Chapel of God in Louisville, Kentucky. Helen was an avid University of Louisville fan and had worked as an usher at sporting events there. Helen was someone who would drop everything she was doing to help others, even if she wasn't feeling well herself. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Helen also had a great love for children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Two Sisters: Judy Johnson, and Roberta Jean Welsh.

Helen is survived by four sisters, Doris Hardin, Evelyn Shoenbachler, Ruby Brangers, Katherine (Jerry) Collard. She is also survived by her Fiancé, David Cooper; great-niece, Shawna (Travis) Denham; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends, including her church family.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 17th, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 11am on Friday, November 18th, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dave Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. There will be a short interment service at The Resthaven Chapel.
