Richard Joseph Mattingly

Richard "Rick" Joseph Mattingly, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 6, 2022. He was born to John and Joyce Mattingly on April 13, 1951.
Rick married his wife, Michelle "Missy" Brown in January of 1972 and together they would raise four children. He was a 1969 graduate of Bishop David High School. He was employed with Phillip Morris International and retired in 1999. Post retirement, he loved to read, eat out, and travel. He frequented cruises with his wife and friends. He was a very proud Papaw to his grandchildren.
Rick was preceded by his parents, John and Joyce Mattingly. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Michelle "Missy" Mattingly; his children, Sherry (Glenn) Choat, Phillip Mattingly, Jason (Stephanie Clark) Mattingly, Jenna (Melanie Richmond) Mattingly; his grandchildren, Collin Choat and Kaitlyn Choat, as well as other relatives and friends who will continue to live his legacy.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, 40243) from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Rick's final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40213).
Memorial contributions can be made to the March of Dimes (1550 Crystal Dr, Suite 1300, Arlington, VA 22202).
