Dearl Dwight Hampton

Dearl Dwight Hampton, 50, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Dearl was energetic, fun loving, funny and a joy to be around. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, grandson and friend. Dearl enjoyed cooking and helping anyone in need. Dearl earned his degree in Social Work at Spalding University and worked at Seven Counties for several years. He recently worked in the culinary arts field with McClarty and Associates. Dearl will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on August 7, 1972 in Louisville, Kentucky to Carolyn (Hampton) Hughes and Robert Locke. He is preceded in death by his step-father, Gary Hughes; grandfather, Ollie B. Hampton, Sr.; and dear friend, Derek Butler.

Dearl is survived by his loving family, mother, Carolyn Hughes; father, Robert Locke; sister, Sheronda (Andrea) Holden; nieces and nephews, A'janae Newcomb, Andrea Holden, Jr., A'lajia Holden; aunts, Lenora Hampton, Thelma Hampton, Tonya White; uncles, Ollie B. (Sandy) Hampton, Jr., Gregory Locke, Tony Locke; Cousins, Jerome Hampton, Candice Hampton, Dayla Berry, Tonisha Hampton, Ollie B. Hampton, III, Cortez (Jessica) Hampton, Tyree Hampton; grandmother, Oretha Watkins; grandmother, Arnetta Locke; special friends, Dr. Stephanie Mack, Sherry Muhammad, Michelle Muhammad, Vera Woods, Kandy Ford, Devon Bibb, Keith Carter, Dr. Giavonne Rondo, Kim Young; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
