Gary Wayne Perkins

Gary Wayne Perkins, 72, passed away on October 5, 2022. He was a veteran who serviced in the Army during the Vietnam War era. Gary was an avid UK fan, enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved watching westerns and his favorite cowboy was John Wayne. Gary enjoyed coaching softball with his daughter, Melanie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Louise Perkins.
Gary leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Kim (Dennis) Hammond and Melanie (Bradley) Chambers; grandchildren, Rebecca Hammond, Destiny Cavanaugh, Dennis Hammond, Jr, Matthew Hammond, Alyssa Chambers and Reese Hammond; sister, Patty (Darryl) Mitchell; brother, Bobby (Dee) Perkins and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-8pm. A celebration of Gary's life will be Thursday, October 13, 2022, beginning at 11am at the funeral home.
A graveside service will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery- Center, 2501 N. Dixie Highway, Radcliff, KY beginning at 12:30pm.
