James D. "Jim" Stevenson, age 78 of Louisville, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022. One of ten children, he was born on June 8, 1943 to the late Floyd and Mary Stevenson in Leitchfield, Ky. Jim retired from Seagrams Distillery and went on to work at Middletown United Methodist Church, from which he retired in 2009. Jim loved fishing, grilling, family celebrations, and activities, especially the Leprechauns, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Alexis V. Stevenson; his daughter, Elizabeth G. Stevenson; his son, David Stevenson; and five siblings.
Jim is survived by his son, Clark B. Stevenson; daughters, Debbie Lashley and Michelle Stevenson; sister, Martha Logsdon (David); brothers, Raymond Stevenson (Nellie), Pete Stevenson (Lisa), and Reverend Tony Stevenson. He is also survived by sisters-in-laws, Joan Winkler (David), Vicki Green (David), and Mary Lynn Garrett (Jeff); brothers-in-laws, Greg VonRoenn (Carla) and Stephen VonRoenn (Renee). Other survivors include grandchildren, Ariel House, Maranda Heaverin, Bryce Milliner and 5 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 9 to 10am on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 1000 N Beckley Station Rd, Louisville, KY 40245. A Mass of Celebration will be held there at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at 1pm.
Memorials may be made in Jim's memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Jim's family also wishes to acknowledge the outstanding care, love and support of the parishioners and staff of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
