Morgan Jane Crawford

July 9, 1984 — March 13, 2022

Morgan Jane Crawford, 37, of Louisville, KY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Morgan attended DuPont Manual High School and graduated from Jefferson County High School. Morgan continued chasing her dreams of making the world a better place through creating and sharing art. She furthered her education through art classes at Preston Arts Center. She dedicated great time and energy to creating artistic pieces and offering them to the community at art shows around the city through her business Blazing Beads.

Morgan dedicated her professional life to advocating for people with disabilities. She worked at the University of Kentucky's Human Development Institute (HDI) as a Field Interviewer, connecting with individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the Louisville area to assess the quality of support they receive. Morgan was an active member of the Consumer Advisory Council with many roles including President and Vice President.

Morgan spent a lot of her time volunteering at All People's, a Unitarian Universalist Church (formerly Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church) greeting members on Sunday mornings. The friends and community she built at church were very dear to her.

Morgan is survived by her parents, Mary and David, her sister, Callie, her uncle and aunts, many cousins and their families, many extended family members, and a caring community of friends who loved, valued, and supported her.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Robert Riesenfeld, paternal grandparents, Herbert "Bud" and Mary Catherine "Coonie" Crawford, maternal grandparents, John and Jane Riesenfeld, maternal step-grandparents, Hoyt and Ruth Greenbury, and her dear friend, Savannah Robb.

Morgan was a fun spirit often described by others as kind, vibrant, and enthusiastic. Morgan's sense of humor brought joy to her and everyone around her. She had a special way of engaging people and making them feel at home in any setting. Morgan was uniquely in tune with the needs of others. Her infectious laugh helped her and those who loved her get through challenging times together.
