Joseph Neal Camarata, 73, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed from this life to eternal life on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a decorated military veteran, a retired United States Customs Inspector, and a Christ-follower.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Ann Marie; his children, Victoria (Dakin) Poland and Edward (Lisa) and Susanne Russo; grandchildren, Dominic, Gage, Elise, and Marie; siblings, Susan Huber, Deborah (Howard) Balch, and William (Judy); as well as his extended family of sister- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many more. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Petronella and Joseph Camarata, as well as his beloved brother, Edward Camarata. Joe's ability to love and encourage unconditionally has him leaving behind an additional host of friends and loved ones.
Joe loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed reading his Bible and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He always looked forward to his weekly Cursillo men's friendship group and the many other friends that would randomly stop by and visit. Not a day will pass that Joe's incredible spirit and love for his family and friends will go unmissed. As we celebrate his life and legacy, we rejoice in the truth that he is with his Heavenly Father.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, IN) with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
