Pastor Douglas Woosley

Pastor Fred Douglas Woosley, age 79 of Louisville, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born on December 30, 1942 in Louisville to the late Fred Clovis Woosley and Ada Mel Tomes Woosley. He graduated from Portland Christian School and the Louisville Bible College. Fred worked 30 years in the optical business in Kentucky and Texas. In his early 20's he became an ordained minister. Fred served in the ministry at Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ, Caneyville Christian Church, Piedmont Church of Christ, Southeast Church of Christ, Salem Christian Church, Southeast Christian Church and Fern Creek Christian Church. He also sang in the Metropolitan Gospel Music Connection. Pastor Fred was a board member of the Kentuckiana Christian Ministries. He was proud of his Welsh heritage and loved the Kentucky Wildcats. Fred was often seen dancing in the aisles at church and now dancing on the streets of gold. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo and his brother, Lloyd Woosley.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Dolores; children, Doug Woosley (Sara) and Diedre Wade (Troy); grandchildren, David Woosley, Aimee Woosley, Kyleigh Wade and Kamaren Wade; twin brother, Ed Woosley (Clara); and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4 to 6pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, with a celebration of Pastor Fred's life at 6pm.
