Leah Minnie Hooper

Leah Minnie Hooper, age 84 of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Leah was born in Stringtown, Mississippi. She has 12 brothers and sisters. She attended Greeville High and then went on to attend Alcorn University where she majored in biology. She then moved with her husband back to his hometown of Louisville where she worked as an inspector for Phillip Morris, Inc. until she retired.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Tommy and Rosie Mae Shorter; and son: Burgess Hooper. She is survived by 5 children: Leah T Hooper, Jhokton Hooper, Dathan Hooper, Verushcka Hooper, Vashti Hooper, adn daughter-in-law Kim Lee. 8 grandchildren: Keith, Shandon, Donald, Sydney, Hope, Delena, Kevin, and Tung. She also has 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Mrs. Hooper's life will be at 11am on Friday, March 11th at the funeral home.
