Jacqueline Elaine (Richard) Brogan and Charles Joseph Brogan passed away within hours of one another after 65 years of marriage on February 7, 2022, at Autumn Woods Health Campus. They were preceded in death by their son, David Charles Brogan.
Jackie was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born on May 29, 1933, to the late John and Virginia (Leatherman) Richard. After raising her three children, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.
Chuck was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was born on September 9, 1933, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Winter) Brogan. He was a United States Army veteran that served during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Chuck went to work for and retired from IBM. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Haire; and brothers, Tom, Bob, and Jack Brogan.
Jackie and Chuck cherished their time with family, going on many trips with their children, attending school events for their grandchildren, and being active members of their church. In their spare time, they enjoyed doing crafts together and playing cards with their friends.
They are survived by their daughters, Valerie Arnold (Michael) of Haymarket, Virginia, and Renee' Markoski (Richard) of Charlestown, Indiana; grandchildren, Rhianna Thomas (Alex), Rebekah Hedge (Nicholas), Zachary Brogan, Branden Arnold, and Anthony Arnold; and great-granddaughters, Vada and Stella Hedge.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with their funeral service taking place at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Owen Creek Cemetery in Charlestown.
