Mary Ann Hitchcock, age 80 of Louisville, formerly of New Albany and Yuma, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was born September 25, 1941 to the late Edwin and Dorothy Hilger. She worked for 30 years as a speech pathologist at the New Albany Floyd County School System. She was also a rosary maker and was known as the "Rosary Lady". She was also preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Harry A. Hitchcock.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving daughters, Donna Prater (Gary) and Cathy Thomas; grandchildren, Thomas and Daniel Prater; brother, Tony Hilger (Faye); step-sons, Jeff Hitchcock (Dina) and Michael Hitchcock; step-grandchildren, Jackie Caponigro, Hanna and Jordyn Hitchcock and Michael Hitchcock, Jr.; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, with prayers at 6:30pm. A Mass of Celebration will be at 10am on Friday, January 28th at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40222, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
