Shirley Ann Higdon

Shirley Ann Higdon, 65, of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on Friday, January 21, 2022.

She was born on March 25, 1956 in Leitchfield, Kentucky to Eugene and Vivian (Wells) Higdon. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Darius; 3 brothers, Randell "Randy", Jesse & Burton; sister, Charlotte.

Shirley was a great mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, friend and mother-in-law. She honorably served in the US Army as a Military Police during the Vietnam Conflict. Shirley was often a caregiver to those who needed her. She enjoyed reading the Bible, fishing, playing cards and Dominos, cooking, baking and loved spending time with her family and friends. Shirley will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, son, Alphonso K. Taylor; daughter, Shamikia J. Nelson; daughter, Tasha L. (Reggie) Green; 7 grandchildren, Tashiana, Angelenna, Corey, Bronston, Christopher, Robert & Adriana; 6 great grandchildren; brother, James (Betty) Hidgon; sister, Lorene Cheatham; sister, Carolyn (Patrick) Fuller; sister, Regina Lewis; uncle, Red (Sue); and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.).

The family would like to invite everyone to a reception immediately following the service at First Baptist Church, 7104 Old Floydsburg Road, Pewee Valley, KY 40056.
