Garland Aaron Garner Sr., 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021. He retired from Cohart Refractories after 35 years of service and was a member of J&H Sportsman's Club. Garland was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to paint, making things out of wood, home projects, and really anything he could do with his hands. Garland will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was born on March 8, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Garland and Regina (Pilkerton) Garner. He is preceded in death by his Father, Garland Henry Garner, Mother, Regina Ione Garner, and Brother, Billy Ray Garner.
Garland is survived by his loving Wife of 38 years, Joyce Kay Garner; Son, Garland Aaron (Cassandra) Garner, Jr.; Grandson, Brandon Lee (Shelby) Garner; Great-Granddaughter, Jenell Garner; Brother, Leo "Buck" Despain; Nephew, Joseph "JR" Montgomery as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at St. Stephens Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
