Elizabeth Holloway

Elizabeth "Sue" Holloway celebrated 89+ years of a beautiful life. She went to be with our sweet Jesus Thursday, October 28, 2021. As you know, she was small in stature but had a giant love for our Good Lord. She is and remains a blessing to us all as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many. Sue was born July 5, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to her parents, the late James Bowman and Eurah Darnell Blalock. She was the youngest of five children; Sissy, Loise, Jim, and Tom. God bless her surviving brother, Thomas Blalock. She was also preceded in death by her sweet daughter, Susan Holloway McFadden.

She loved her sweet husband of 30 years Jim Holloway; also her precious children; Linda and Larry Bender, David and Laura Grady, Jim and Amy Grady, Jim and Rosie Holloway, Steve and Sandee Holloway, Julie and Darin Long. The good Lord gave her 18 grandchildren and 10 with one on the way great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She also loved the countless students she taught and counseled over her 30 year career with Jefferson County Public Schools. No matter where she went, even after being retired for 25+ years, former students would recognize her and say "you were my favorite teacher!" Remarkably, she always knew every one of them, by name.

Come celebrate the wonderful life of Sue Holloway with us. Visitation will be Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. at Westport Road Church of Christ, 4500 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40207 with funeral services to follow at 12. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
