George Leonard "Rock" Coddington, Jr.

George Leonard "Rock" Coddington, Jr., 66, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was a devout Christian and active member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany. Rock loved his family and was proud to be called Grandpa. He was a talented musician, especially with the guitar, and enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature, bird watching, gardening, and fishing. Rock also liked playing Euchre and was fond of his Mustang. He served in the United States Air Force and had a career in Information Technology.

He was born on August 7, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky, to George, Sr., and Dolores (Willis) Coddington. Rock is survived by his wife, Diane (Walston) Coddington; children, Michael Joseph Coddington, Rock Aaron Coddington (Maisha), Mindy Goodale Stines (Bobby), and Leah Marie Hicks; siblings, Sandé Cross, Michael Wayne Coddington, Lawrence "Woody" Coddington, Lori "Peachy" Coddington (Barney Basham), and Patti Giles; grandchildren, Kortney, Chloe, Harper, Harley, Mya, Michael, Mariah, Charlie, Tommy, Lyrik, and Leila; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Lanesville.
