Charles Michael Boyd

Charles Michael Boyd, 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His family meant more to him than anything especially his grandkids. He was proud to be an Army Veteran. He was an avid handyman, chef, and fisherman. Charles will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on November 16, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to Leon and Phyllis (Rhodes) Boyd. He is preceded in death by his father, Leon Boyd and mother, Phyllis Boyd.

Charles is survived by his loving Wife of years, Mary Alice Boyd; daughters, Nicola LAVERNE Hailey and Charisse Renee (William) Craig; son, Kevin DeJuan Blevins; grandchildren, JaJuan (Kierra) Hailey, Sr., William Craig, II, and Kendall Craig; great-grandchild, JaJuan Hailey, Jr.; siblings, Joyce Rice, Leola Boyd, Tina (Jeffrey) Sykes, Bonita Boyd, Leon Boyd, Jr., Emma Laverne Boyd, Charles Tandy, Darlene Tandy, and Tyra Meriweather; uncle, Benjamin (Joyce) Rhodes. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Charles's memory be made to The Special Olympics.
