Virgie M. Foster Jones

Virgie M. Foster Jones, 89, of Pekin, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Virgie enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was an excellent cook. She had a passion for traveling, but her greatest loves of all were her family and God.

She was born on April 14, 1932, in Pekin, Indiana, to the late Arthur and Mary (Mahuron) Pixley. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Homer Foster and Jim Jones; 9 brothers and sisters; and her grandson, Bradley Foster.

Virgie is survived by her loving children, Arthur (Maria) Foster, Irvin (Karren) Foster, John (Carol) Foster, Mary (Larry) Taylor, Joyce Hurst, and Keith (Leota) Foster; stepson, Mike Jones; brother, Jesse (Dorothy) Pixley; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Pekin, Indiana.
