Marion L. "Sonny" Dale

Marion L. "Sonny" Dale, 78, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired instructor from Prosser Career Education Center in New Albany. Sonny was passionate about Christmas and felt like there could never be enough lights or trees. He was artistic and loved to paint. Sonny also enjoyed woodworking, history, music, and watching movies, especially Hallmark films.

He was born on August 14, 1943, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Willie and Elizabeth (Jones) Dale. In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his siblings, JoAnn Martin and Floyd Dale.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Vera (Wiseman) Dale; son, Michael Dale (Trina); granddaughters, Nicole Dale and Hannah Wells; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
