Matthew "Todd" Thompson

Matthew "Todd" Thompson, 55, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Todd was an avid sports fan and enjoyed umpiring softball all across Southern Indiana. He had many friends and was known for never meeting a stranger. Above all else, Todd loved his family and friends more than anything.

He was born on October 15, 1965, in New Albany, Indiana, to Ronald and Drue (Scott) Thompson.

Along with his parents, Todd is survived by his son, Tanner Thompson; siblings, Ron Thompson and Chris "Critter" (Jennifer) Thompson; nieces, Hanna, Lily, and Lauren Thompson; nephew, Jake Thompson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Borden, Indiana.

By request of the family and in memory of Todd, please wear your favorite college sweatshirt and shorts to the visitation and service.
